Q. Ray,
The 2012 National Officers reports suggest that the Lodge Assistance Program has been discontinued, and I have heard rumors to that effect. I still see references to the LAP in the newly revised FOG as well as the Section JTE requirements. What is the status of this program?

Thanks,
Alan

A. Alan,
It is true that the Lodge Assistance Program is no longer in use. The FOG and Section JTE form were recently updated to remove references to the Lodge Assistance Program.

This however, shouldn't stop us from practicing the most valuable practice of the program; learning from our brothers in other lodges. The most successful sections have good relationships between their lodges and I challenge you to continue visiting, sharing and learning from lodges outside your own.

Thanks for your question,
Ray
