Q. Mr. Capp,

Is it permissible to embroider a sash with the Scout’s name near the bottom where the snap is located so the Scouts don't get their sashes mixed up? I have asked a few other adult Arrowmen and they didn't know. They all thought it was a good idea, but were unsure if it violates any standing rule. One of them mentioned that I could ask you and you could provide me the answer. Any advice you can provide would be appreciated.

Thank you.
Adam

A. Dear Adam,

I can see how mixing up sashes could be a problem, especially if you have many OA members in your unit. I think embroidering your Scout’s names on their sashes would be fine on the inside of the sash as long as it is not visible on the outside while worn. Hope this helps.
