Q. Our lodge is telling us we cannot do call-outs in our district until the first of June. Is this a national policy?

A. There is no national policy regarding unit elections and call-out ceremony seasons. These decisions are intentionally left to local lodges and chapters. Please reach out to your chapter adviser, lodge adviser, or staff adviser to get further information and clarification. It's possible that they will be interested in performing a call-out ceremony at the district camporee to reach a wider audience of Scouts and parents or to make the ceremony more impressive. It's also possible that their date they've chosen was picked previously to accommodate conditions or events that are no longer an issue. However, your local OA leadership will be able to decide this.
