Operation Arrow LogoThe staff and participants of the 2017 National Jamboree will have the chance to join together for a powwow this July, hosted by the Operation Arrow Indian Village staff. The powwow will give dancers of all experience levels the chance to demonstrate their traditional American Indian singing and dancing skills. It will provide an opportunity for fellowship for Venturers, International Scouts and all jamboree staff.

The powwow will be held on Wednesday, July 19th from 7:00pm-9:00pm in Basecamp Echo. Everyone is invited to bring their American Indian dance clothes. All in attendance will have the opportunity to participate in all dance styles. There will be opportunities for all attendees to participate in various style of dances. It is important to note that dancers are responsible for storage of their clothing for the duration of the jamboree. Those who do not own dance clothes are invited to participate in this inclusive cultural event as well. To respect American Indian powwow tradition, shoes are required. Those in uniform can participate.

The powwow promises to provide a brief, enjoyable, informal introduction to American Indian dance and a social event for all staff to share time together. Those wishing to further develop their skill and learn more about American Indian culture can visit the Indian Village on Garden Ground Mountain for guidance. There will also be dance exhibitions there every program day at 10am and 2pm.
