The 2018 National Order of the Arrow Conference (NOAC) will include live demonstrations by some of the best ceremonialists in the country, and YOU can be a part of it! This year the Inductions and Ceremony Events (ICE) committee will debut the ceremonies Exemplar Recognition program. A key aspect of this program includes a select number of teams conducting a live demonstration of the pre-Ordeal Ceremony so that any and all Arrowmen can get a glimpse of their magic.

Spectators are welcome and encouraged to attend the live demonstrations, to take place on Tuesday and potentially also Wednesday afternoon (if the demo is a Brotherhood ceremony, you must be a Brotherhood member....all are welcome to the pre-Ordeal ceremony demos). These demonstrations will also be video recorded for future training, with segments of them posted to the ICE Portal, so ceremonialists throughout the Order can use the Exemplar finalists as inspiration for their own service.

By attending the Exemplar demonstrations, you will get to see the best of the best ceremonialists in action, and take ideas and inspiration back to your own lodge. Even better, you also will have a ringside seat to the live, real-time evaluation taking place immediately after each demo. This is a terrific learning opportunity for any Arrowman, and is not limited to ceremonialists. Anyone interested in the inductions process, the perpetuation of the values of our Brotherhood, or in seeing some of the best training interactions offered at NOAC will enjoy this activity. If your Destiny includes leadership, public speaking, character building, education, communication, or any aspect thereof, this is a not-to-miss event!

The only individuals not eligible to attend the demos are Exemplar teams (and associated lodge members) who have not yet conducted their own demo (and received their own evaluation). All others are welcome to this unique NOAC-only activity.

More information, including an overview of the Exemplar process, the evaluation rubric, and guidelines for video submission, is provided on the ICE Portal. Please watch that space for continuing details on status and FAQs.
