In March of 2013, Nentico Lodge first started thinking about how it was going to host the NE-6A Section Conclave. After months of planning, the conclave, themed Rock N’ Roll Through the Ages came to life on the weekend of May 16th-18th, 2014.
Lane Short and Tony Sheaffer served as co-chairmen for the event and led the planning effects. Their work started 14 months prior to the conclave, but never slowed down: in the last two weeks before the conclave, they were able to get nearly 200 more Arrowman to register!
Saturday morning was filled with training cells, some of which were conducted by section or national officers including National Vice Chief Taylor Bobrow and Northeast Region Chief Kyle Piper.
The excitement picked up in the afternoon, and Nentico took the opportunity to highlight some opportunities specific to their area. Among those features were the Native American dancers of Camp Puh’Tok, who put on a tremendous dance show Arrowmen could watch while on their way to other events, such as the increasingly popular lodge ball competition.
Nentico capped off the already incredible conclave with a performance of a local band, The Side Project. That performance, and Saturday night’s closing ceremony which featured a state of the art laser show, polished off a section conclave worthy of it’s theme. The memories of the 2014 NE-6A Conclave will definitely continue to rock n’ roll through the minds of the Arrowmen who attended for a long time to come.
