Board Room Experience

Try this idea at your next one-day lodge leadership development conference, or even an important lodge business meeting. Instead of hosting your meeting at the typical location such as the local Scout Service Center or camp, hold the event at a local corporate board room. Chances are, a member of the council executive board has access to one that the lodge can use one evening.

Many youth have never visited a corporate board room, and the setting conveys something special or important. It may inspire a youth to ask about the business or consider their own future careers. With a little bit of planning, the CEO or other professional may visit and briefly discuss their own involvement in Scouting or the OA.
