From February 27-March 3, a delegation of Scouts representing all programs within the Boy Scouts of America will travel to Washington, D.C. to present the 2015 Report to the Nation to key leaders in our government. 2016 Order of the Arrow National Chief Hunter Jones will have the unique privilege of being one of the youth members of this delegation.

These Scouts, who will be accompanied by a support team of adults, will tour the nation’s capital and meet with various politicians and public servants. Their key purpose will be to present the 2015 Annual Report to key Congressional members from both political parties.

The Boy Scouts are mandated by its Congressional Charter to present a report to the leaders of Congress, including Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid of Nevada, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky, House Speaker Paul Ryan of Wisconsin and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi of California. In addition, each Scout in the delegation will meet individually with a member of Congress from their state and present a copy of this report.

The anticipation for the report is quite high among delegates, including Hunter. “I am honored to have the opportunity to present some of the great accomplishments from the OA’s centennial year as well as Scouting’s highlights with our country’s leaders,” he remarked. “It gives me a sense of pride when looking at all we have accomplished and all of the lives we have touched in 2015.”

For breaking news and updates from the Report to the Nation, be sure to follow Hunter on Twitter, @OANationalChief. He will also be utilizing the OA’s Snapchat, oa-bsa, for the duration of the report. The official event hashtag is #BSA2015RTN.

Additionally, Bryan Wendell, senior editor of Boys’ Life, Scouting and Eagles’ Call magazines, will be joining the delegation. He will post updates from blog.scoutingmagazine.org, and Twitter, @scouting and @bryanonscouting.

Lastly, the BSA will frequently update its Flickr page with photos showcasing the delegation throughout the duration of the event. You can access its albums here.
