2022 OA Distinguished Service Award & Red Arrow Recipients

The Distinguished Service Award (DSA) was created in 1940 to honor Order of the Arrow members, youth and adults, who have rendered distinguished and outstanding service to the Order on a sectional, regional, or national basis. The award is typically presented at National Order of the Arrow Conferences.  Since 1940 only 1,072 persons, including the following 2022 Class of 53 recipients, have been selected to receive the Distinguished Service Award:

National Bulletin Recap

In December of 2021, Derek Porter and Greg Brown finished their successful terms as national chief and vice chief, respectively. Mike Hoffman finished his term as OA National Committee Chair. Mike Hoffman was succeeded by Dr. Chris Grove of Central Florida Council as the National Committee Chair.

Letter From the Chief

My Fellow Arrowmen,

Scouting. Is. BACK! Since we last spoke, I’ve had the opportunity to attend countless events across the nation. Safe to say it’s been quite an exciting start to 2022! When I visit with different Arrowmen at these conclaves and leadership training events, one thing is always true: everyone is having fun. I am overcome with joy to see smiles on the faces of Arrowmen. After a tough two years, we finally see the light at the end of the tunnel. Together, we’ll find that light at NOAC!

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Resource Hub

The Order of the Arrow aspires to become the model for diversity, equity, and inclusion in the Boy Scouts of America. The OA is developing resources to support youth leaders and advisers in integrating diversity, equity, and inclusion into their leadership. Ordeal Ceremony Revision Announcement

Following a thorough review process, the National Order of the Arrow Committee has approved an update to Ceremony for the Ordeal, with changes to both the pre-Ordeal and Ordeal ceremonies that address recent membership updates, safety concerns, ceremonial continuity, and improves the overall candidate experience.
