Q/A: OA Logo Favorite Icon

Q: I noticed that if I drag your web site into my bookmarks, in Microsoft's Internet Explorer 5.x, an OA logo icon automatically replaces the IE icon. Where in your code does it tell IE to do this? How would I add this to my website?

A: The bookmark icon is a feature of Microsoft's Internet Explorer 5.x. If someone tries to bookmark a web page, and an icon file named "favicon.ico" exists in the same directory, then IE will use the icon with that page's bookmark.

You can also specify an icon file to use with a LINK tag in the HEAD section of a html page. (This is what we are doing now for our pages.) You can find out more about icon files and how IE uses them for bookmarks by searching for "favicon" on any good web search page.
