2008 Service Grant Recipients
For the past several years, the National Order of the Arrow Committee has
provided matching service grants for a limited number of projects submitted by
application to the national OA office. A total of $40,000 was made available for
distribution for projects in 2008. The evaluators considered the innovative
scope and design of the project, the number of Scouts impacted by the project, and how the project enhances Cub Scouting or Boy Scouting in the
council.
Congratulations to the following 11 lodges selected as the service grant
recipients for 2008:

Cowikee Lodge, Alabama-Florida Council 3 received $4000 for the "The
Greening of Camp Alaflo" which will involve electrical consumption
reduction.

Woa Cholena Lodge, Mobile Area Council 4 received $4250 to construct a
handicap accessible shower house.

Comanche Lodge, Louisiana Purchase Council 213 received $3000 to repair a
chapel at Camp T.L. James.

Pamola Lodge, Katahdin Area Council 216 received $2500 to build three open
wall pavilions at Camp Roosevelt for camp craft, nature lodge and outpost
camping.

Guneukitschik Lodge, Mason Dixon Council 221 received $4250 to renovate the
camp museum.

Manitous Lodge, Great Sauk Trail Council 255 received $4250 to build an
EcoCon shelter at camp.

Otahnagon Lodge, Baden-Powell Council 368 received $4250 to replace the camp
waterfront building that is ADA compliant.

Cuyahoga Lodge, Greater Cleveland Council 440 received $4000 to construct a
permanent shelter for the Handicraft Program Area.

Skyuka Lodge, Palmetto Council 549 received $4250 to to replace the
abutment walls for the stage and seating for the camp amphitheater.

Sequoyah Lodge, Sequoyah council 713 received $4250 to build a 3500 square
foot multi-purpose program shelter with lights and power for use by their
Cub Adventure Program, First Year Camper Program, training facility, and
winter camping.

Wewanoma Lodge, Rio Grande Council 775 received $1000 to build seating for
the new chapel and construct a gravel path at Camp Perry.
