2006 OA Service Grant Recipients
For the past several years, the National Order of the Arrow Committee has
provided matching service grants for a limited number of projects submitted by
application to the national OA office. A total of $35,000 was made available
for distribution for projects in 2006. The evaluators considered the innovative
scope and design of the project, how the project impacts a significant number
of Scouts, and how the project enhances Cub Scouting or Boy Scouting in the
council.
Congratulations to the following 10 lodges selected as the service grant
recipients for 2006:

Orca Lodge, Redwood Empire Council #41, received $3150 to construct a new
shower facility at Camp Riggs at Elk River.

Tupwee Gudas Gov Youchiqudt Soovep Lodge, Rocky Mountain Council #63, received
$3150 to establish a new project COPE course.

Waguli Lodge, Northwest Georgia Council #100 received $4000, to renovate,
repair, and remodel the original camp dining hall into a year-round building
for use as an OA Lodge and handicraft lodge.

Illini Lodge, Prairielands Council #117, received $4250 to create a handicap
accessible walkway throughout the entire central camp area.

Madockawanda Lodge, Pine Tree Council #218, received $5000 to construct a
Native American Archery Area for a new Cub World camp.

Blue Ox Lodge, Gamehaven Council #299, received $4000 to convert the basement
of Deer Lodge to a health lodge at Gamehaven Scout Reservation.

Tamegonit Lodge, Heart of America Council #307, received $5000 to reconstruct a
critical part of the camps scenic trail that will provide handicap
accessibility to the camp's Cub World.

Ho-De-No-San-Nee Lodge, Greater Niagara Frontier Council #380, received $1200
to construct an observation tower at the boat lake and bring the swimming pool
up to county code at Cub Camp Stonehaven.

Ahoalan-Nachpikin Lodge, Chickasaw Council #558, received $3150 to construct a
new shower and toilet facility that will accommodate co-ed Venturing, Cub Scout
youth and parents, and Scouts with disabilities.

Semialachee Lodge, Suwannee River Area Council #664, received $2100 to
construct three "Tree House" style bunkhouses.
Special Grants:

Unami Lodge, Cradle of Liberty Council #525, received $5000 for massive
restoration at Unami Lodge on Treasurer Island due to the severe flooding that
closed the camp.
Respective council offices will receive letter notification from the national OA
office in the near future.
The National Order of the Arrow Committee wishes to express its appreciation to
the 45 lodges who applied for the 2006 service grants.
