2003 National Chief's & National Vice Chief's Closing Thoughts

Brothers,

As 2003 draws to a close we can't help but reflect on the progress and achievements the Order of the Arrow has made over the past year. From national programs to lodge fellowships, the Order of the Arrow has been a strong force in inspiring youth across the country to take an active role in leading others through cheerful service. Now it is ever so important that we use our experiences from the past for the betterment of the future.

[National Chief at Conclave]

During our travels this year we have had the opportunity to observe and participate in learning, fellowship, and service all across the country. Through lodge events, section conclaves, National Leadership Seminars, and the Order of the Arrow's renowned national programs, it is apparent that Arrowmen are constantly growing stronger and becoming better leaders each and every day. By exemplifying the virtues that we as the youth of the Order of the Arrow represent, we have the ability to further enrich the entire Scouting program.

The progress that we have made as an organization has been tremendous over the past year. We have yielded 14 successful National Leadership Seminars, a new Spring Break service project at Philmont, record breaking attendance at both of the National OA High Adventure Programs, and an awe-inspiring Indian Summer. The Order of the Arrow has undergone remarkable development toward enhancing opportunities for thousands of Arrowmen in 2003.

We have sincerely enjoyed participating in these activities among many others throughout our term. The countless people we have had the opportunity to meet and interact with have been an inspiration to both of us. We hope that everyone who has shared such great experiences will remain active in Scouting and in our Order. The greatest power a person can have is that of inspiration. Never forget that, "if these virtues glow brightly in our hearts, the fire cannot fail to be kindled in theirs. Brothers, we are ready!"

Yours in Service,

Nick Digirolamo Rich Moore
