Josh Sain Memorial
Scholarship Recipients
The Recognitions and Awards subcommittee
of the National Order of the Arrow Committee
is pleased to announce the selection of five recipients of the
Josh Sain Memorial Scholarship. This scholarship was
established in 1998 to honor the
spirit and the memory of Josh R. Sain, a former National
Vice Chief of the Order of the
Arrow. The scholarships are provided to former National
Officers upon
completion of their successful service of their terms.
The National Committee has agreed to fund $10,000 in scholarships.
The 2002 recipients and the amount they will receive include:
Dominique F. Baker will receive $2,000. He is registered
with the Gamehaven Council, Rochester, Minnesota, and the Blue Ox
Lodge. He is a junior majoring in Math Education at Winona State
University. He is the immediate past central region chief.
Patrick S. Boyd will receive $2,000. He is registered
with the Connecticut River Council, East Hartford, Connecticut, and
the Tschitani Lodge. He is a junior majoring in History and Social
Sciences at Eastern Connecticut State University. He is the
immediate past northeast region chief.
Donald J. Cunningham will receive $2,000. He is registered
with the Keystone Area Council, Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, and the
Susquehannock Lodge. He is a freshman majoring in Finance at
Westchester University. He is the immediate past national chief.
Joshua G. Gana will receive $2,000. He is registered
with the Blue Mountain Council, Kennewick, Washington, and the
Walamootkin Lodge. He is a junior majoring in Business Administration
at Gonzaga University. He is the immediate past western region chief.
Jason W. Kemp will receive $2,000. He is registered with
the Old Hickory Council, Winston-Salem, North Carolina, and the
Wahissa Lodge. He is a junior majoring in Geography and Environmental
Science at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He is
the immediate past southern region chief.
The National OA Committee congratulates these fine
representatives of the Boy Scouts
of America and the Order of the Arrow.
